The Story of Guy Fawkes

29 05 2008

There were once a group of catholics who were going to blow up the Parliament building and all the people in it. This included the king and his subjects. Directly under the Parliament building were a bunch of cellars that you could rent to store wine and other goods in. The Catholics rented one of these cellars and filled it up with barrels of gunpowder and bombs. They also put some sticks and logs in there, partly to hide the gunpowder and partly so they could set the gunpowder off by lighting the wood and running away. Then, the big day arrived, the day when they where to blow every one in the Parliament building up. The dangerous and difficult part of lighting the wood was given to a brave man called Guy Fawkes. He sneaked into the cellar and was just about to light the wood when lots of men came in with drawn swords. THEY HAD BEEN BETRAYED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guy Fawkes was tortured to try and force him to reveal the names of the other conspirators but he stayed strong and didn’t tell anyone and then he was executed.
