Livestock Transport

When cows and stuff go on long road trips, it used to be pretty uncomfortable. But nowadays, there are laws which make the trucks’ floor’s more soft. The laws also say that the air must flow freely in the trucks. But there’s no food or water, no bedding and no toilets. And there’s standing room only. So the RSPCA is saying that the trucks should stop every few hours, have food, water and bedding, and, on hot days, air-conditioning. The only problem is, with all the trouble about the livestock, Meat and wool prices might rise. The new laws haven’t started yet, but eventually they will begin.

Savannah Cats

There are some cats that are twice the size and much faster and stronger than normal cats. They are called Savannah cats, breeders mated African Servals, with normal cats and created Savannahs. In Australia, these super-cats have been banned, this is because normal cats alone, destroy up to 1000 native animals a year. So if the Savannah cats ran away from their owners and turned feral, they would kill heaps of animals. What with their speed and agility. The Savannah cats would also cost around 5000 dollars because of the wildcat breeding. The Government is also worried the super-cats would be dangerous because of their close relation to wildcats. So the Government has decided the safest idea is to ban them

Paparazzi

Paparazzi…………………………………. Lots of celebrities get very annoyed when those news reporters cameras snap them, off guard. So some stars reckon the pressure from paparazzi contrubutes to their own personal problems, making them turn to drugs or alcohol. Some photos of celebs can earn millions of dollars, making the photographer very rich. There’s just been a big court case looking into it and it’s got a lot of people talking about tougher laws to control the press pack. In some European countries they now have to get permission from the people they photograph before the photos can be released. Some say the media and the paparazzi are only giving people what they want. If we didn’t buy magazines, photographers would leave the celebrities alone. Others say the celebs often use the paparazzi to promote themselves. After all, getting your face in a magazine or on TV can help sell records, get a big movie deal or pick up an advertising contract.
