R.C. made some candles out of fat from a goat he killed, so now he could read his books at night. One day, R.C. was going for a hunt, when he heard some frightful yells and screams. He hastened to the scene, and found some savages who were feasting on a human carcass. After they had gone, a few months went by and then he found a savage being chased by two others. R.C. felt sorry for the poor man and saved his life by driving off his pursuers. the man wanted to be R.C.’s servant, so he took him and named him Friday.

R.C. was brave in chasing off the bad men.
