When David was ten years old, he was sent to work in the cotton factory. Rain or shine, he had to be there at six in the morning until 8 at night, with only short breaks for meals. When he was 20, he once sat in a field to watch the sunset and thought how beautiful it was and how weird it was that lots of men ruined the beautiful world by killing people, stealing, cheating and bullying each other to get more than they could use. Then he made a decision, that he would be as much like Jesus as was in his power. In a few weeks he was going to college to learn how to be a doctor.
