R.C. had begun to teach Friday english. Friday was a fast learner so soon he was talking very well. R.C. found some poor englishmen who were captured by cannibals. He killed and wounded some of the savages and the rest fled. He untied the men and they told him that they had sailed there and had been exploring and then they got captured by lots of cannibals. They told R.C. that he could come back on their ship to England. R.C. was happy about going home but sad about leaving about going away from what had been his home for 28 years. Friday went with R.C. as well. When they went back to England it took a while to adjust back to normal living but they did finally become normal englishmen.

This book is a big journey of courage and perserverance.

Robinson Crusoe: Pt 6

R.C. made some candles out of fat from a goat he killed, so now he could read his books at night. One day, R.C. was going for a hunt, when he heard some frightful yells and screams. He hastened to the scene, and found some savages who were feasting on a human carcass. After they had gone, a few months went by and then he found a savage being chased by two others. R.C. felt sorry for the poor man and saved his life by driving off his pursuers. the man wanted to be R.C.’s servant, so he took him and named him Friday.

R.C. was brave in chasing off the bad men.

Robinson Crusoe: Pt 5

R.C. found a turtle which he cooked and ate, he enjoyed it a lot. One stormy day, he fell sick and lay in bed for few days and then felt better afterwards. R.C. found lots of turtles which he shot some of and salted the meat. He found one day, that he had accidentally planted some wheat when he shook out an empty sack. It grew and grew until he was able to harvest it. He ground it up and baked a loaf of bread. It was very good bread, and R.C. was very thankful for the accidental crop.

Through these events R.C. learned to be thankful for what he had.

Robinson Crusoe Pt: 4

One day, R.C. was sitting in his cave, reading a book he had recovered from the ship wreck. Suddenly the roof of his cave collapsed everywhere. He was thankful to God that he hadn’t been buried alive. He decided that he had been unwise to make his roof unsupported, and set to work digging it out again, putting up wooden props as he went along. R.C.’s axes and hatchets had become blunt because they had been used a lot. So he made a machine for turning a grindstone, it was made up of a belt tied to the stone and the other end of the belt joined to a pedal to turn with your foot. It worked very well and his tools were soon very sharp and servicable.

By this time, R.C. had been on the island 9 days, and been to the ship 12 times. He had brought a variety of tools, weapons, and buiding materials. He had also made a sort of calendar out of a wooden post, marking the weeks, months and years with different knife notches. R.C. had begun to build some furniture out of broken bits of wood from the ship. With a Hammer, a saw and nails, this was quite easy. He found a big rock that was soft enough to dig into with a pick and a shovel. He decided to dig out a cave which was to become his primary residence. After lots of hard digging and picking, he moved some furniture and a bed into his new home.

The theme of this chapter was Perserverance.

Robinson Crusoe: Part 2

After a few weeks of being on land, R. C. Got to go on another boat and he set sail for the second time. A few weeks later, the ship crashed and everyone on board died except for R.C.. He swam to the shore and was very sad. Then he went to sleep because he was tired from swimming and stuff. The next day he saw that the wreck of the ship was not far away from the shore, within swimming distance in fact. So he decided to go out and see what was still on board. He swam out and got on board and found some food and rum. After eating and drinking heartily, he built a raft out of broken bits of ship. He then loaded it up with food, drink, guns, bombs, sails, and all kinds of stuff, and then sailed back to shore.

Robinson Crusoe

Robinson Crusoe was a young man when he decided he wanted go to sea. He wanted to because he wanted to see the world. His father and mother did not want him to go. His father did not want him to go because he wanted him to get a proper job, and his mother because she thought he would die if he went. But Robinson decided to go anyway. So he got to go on a boat and they set sail. The first day on the boat, he was violently seasick. And then the second day he was okay. Except the boat crashed and then they swam back to shore. Robinson was not happy. I think Robinson Crusoe is evolving into an impetuous man and he is not happy. I think a recurring theme in this story is not thinking before you do something.

Nat Bowditch lived in Salem, He had 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Their names were Mary, Lizza, Hab, William And Sammy. Hab was signed onto the crew of a cargo ship. Early one morning Nat woke up and found that Hab had left on the ship at high tide.

Jellyfish.

Jellyfish have two cell layers separated by a jelly-like substance. They have a hollow, saclike body with a mouth opening, around the mouth opening are long growths called tentacles. The tentacles are equipped with sting cells for killing small fish for food. Jellyfish can swim either by floating on the water or by forcing water through their bodies. Some jellyfish are tiny and some are huge.

Paramecium.

Paramecium are shaped like slippers, and belong to the group of one-celled invertebrates that are covered with tiny, hair-like fibers. The tiny fibres are used in two ways, the first way is for movement. The fibres move the paramecium not only forward and backwards but also turn it around so it can move any way it wants. The second use of the fibres is to help direct food particles to it mouth. Paramecium lives in water and likes eating acid.
